WCW Thunder was a weekly wrestling television show produced by WCW that debuted in 1998 as the company’s second major program alongside WCW Monday Nitro. The show launched during the peak of WCW’s popularity in the Monday Night Wars to capitalize on the growing demand for the product. Thunder featured many of WCW’s biggest stars, including Goldberg, Sting, Ric Flair, and Diamond Dallas Page, although it often had a different focus compared to Nitro. While Nitro usually advanced the biggest storylines, Thunder was often used to continue feuds and showcase additional matches. The series became known for its energetic atmosphere and the classic late-1990s WCW presentation style. Following the decline of the promotion, Thunder ended in 2001 along with WCW itself.
