Extreme Championship Wrestling

Extreme Championship Wrestling was an American professional wrestling promotion that gained cult status in the 1990s for its uncompromising, hard-hitting, and extreme style. The company evolved from Eastern Championship Wrestling and was transformed under Paul Heyman into one of the most influential underground promotions of its time. ECW became known for its ultraviolent presentation, creative storytelling, and passionate fanbase. Stars such as Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, and Taz shaped the product and made ECW a major alternative to WWE and WCW. Despite financial struggles, the promotion had a major influence on the Attitude Era and modern professional wrestling as a whole.
